On March 9th, the youth of the KCYM Vijapuram Diocese gathered in Kuttikanam for a powerful protest against the increasing wild animal incursions affecting local communities. The event featured a rally illuminated by fire torches, symbolizing the urgency and determination of the youth to bring attention to this pressing issue.

The protest aimed to shed light on the hardships faced by the people in the region due to frequent wildlife encroachments. Community members, including farmers and residents, have been struggling with the damage caused by these incidents, which threaten their safety and livelihood.

The rally witnessed impassioned speeches from key leaders, including Ajith Alphonse, the KCYM Vijapuram Diocese President, and Fr. Jithin Mathew Fernandez, Assistant Director of KCYM Vijapuram Diocese. They were joined by Fr. Jose Kuruvilla Kadanthurathel, Forane Vicar; Subin K. Sunny, KCYM State Secretary; Anu Vincent, Vijapuram Diocese Secretary; and Jose Varkey, Latin State General Secretary.

Each speaker emphasized the need for better management and intervention from the government, critiquing the current handling of the situation.
